ahh..
wont you just look at that juicy beef with the melting (what i shall presume as) swiss chess. squashed between two beautiful brown sesame-sprinkled buns. and those ever so yummy relish. agggggh *gags*
i read a post on facebook a couple of days back, quote: "muslims post pictures of food more during ramadhan. because they cant eat ... fighting their nafs"
its true huh? and when i actually realises that this is absolutely true (looking at my instagram posts for just the past one week into ramadhan). funny. and VERY true.
and perhaps, sad?
and coming from another point of view, we can see that almost everyday, pictures and news about the people that suffers from war. there are children who eat mud for crying out loud! and somewhere some when, someone told me that on average, the money that ONE person spend on food (and here we can disregards his/her living status) can feed FIFTEEN poor people.
subahanallah. masyaallah.
personally, i was very ashamed of myself when i heard this. i mean, just look: we whine on what to cook/eat for dinner when those people at kezillions (my word for huge amount of "millions") places around the world did not even say anything, much less whine about not having any food to eat for dinner.
which brings back to why muslims post pictures of food during the only month where they cant eat during the day. ironic no?
what is ramadhan? why muslims fast? why just one month?
ramadhan is the month (the only month) where muslims have to fast. fasting (literally) in islam is to not eat nor drink from the break of dawn until sunset. muslims must perform good deeds throughout the month and to pay zakat (charity money? exscuse my better-lack of word choices). here is where many of the muslims are kinda confused, or not clear. we muslims, and in fact everyone in the world must do good deeds everyday to everyone right? and i am sure that no matter what religion you are in, they ask you to be nice to your family, friends, the elderly etc. but in ramadhan, we have to be extra extra nice :)
while most people see ramadhan as the month of fasting, it is actually a month when the holy alquran was quote: "revealed" for the very first time. and this is a major this for us muslims! much much more than just fasting during ramadhan. thats why muslims must try very hard to finish reading the alquran. and to add a little bit more on the revelation of the quran, muslims must strive to "catch" lailatul qadr night; the night the quran was revealed, a night so peaceful and full of bless and a night greater then a thousand nights.
to conclude, IM HUNGRY :/
wallaualam. happy ramadhan everyone :)
